See more than 100 scarecrows pop up for the annual village event which begins on 26thJuly!

The world famous Muston Scarecrow Festival makes a welcome return to North Yorkshire attracting visitors as far afield as India!

Visitors to the festival will expect to see over 100 scarecrows on display all over the village of Muston.

During the festival the village is literally taken over by scarecrows that come in a variety of shapes and sizes, colours and themes; you just never know where you might find one peering at you!

Some of the highlights in previous festivals have included the Royal baby, Olympic stars, Mr Bloom, Postman Pat, Harry Potter, Jedward, Last of the Summer Wine and Toy Story characters, as well as the festival's centre-piece, a life size shire horse complete with plough!

Judging takes place on the first day and the results are then sealed and kept secret. Visitors can then enter the competition to guess the 1st 2nd & 3rd places. The winner is whoever picks the same results as the judges, which is a harder match than you may at first think!

Muston has a delightful pub, The Ship Inn, that is situated on the main road close to the car park. It serves good beers and wines and delicious meals. It also has a beer garden to the rear.
All Saints Church will be serving teas and snacks and proceeds from these sales help to maintain the building.
The Village Hall will be serving teas, coffee, cakes and savouries at very reasonable prices. Proceeds go to the Muston Millennium Committee.
Some local residents will also be offering drinks and cakes for sale from their own gardens and donating money to the Muston Millennium Committee.

Please note that all food and drink outlets that are supporting the village by way of a donation to the Muston Millennium Committee from sales made will be displaying this sign that will be clearly visible.
It would be appreciated if visitors would recognise this good work and support these outlets by purchasing refreshments from those displaying the signs. Other refreshment outlets may also be present in the village.
