Country Show, from 12 Jul 2014, free entry
Delicious sandwiches, homemade soups and fantastic home-baked cakes will be served throughout the day, as will teas, coffees and cold drinks. There will also be irresistible strawberry cream scones - comprising home made scones, homemade jam, English cream and home grown strawberries. Weather permitting, all served on the hall lawns or, for those wishing to remain close to the action, in the hall itself!
The market aims to offer something for everyone; there will be a full range of delicious breads by Barnards, excellent meats from Broad Head Farm whose grass fed animals have been allowed to mature naturally. Look out for their Dexter beef and Wiltshire Horn Hogget, (Wiltshire Horn is an ancient, hardy breed of sheep renowned for their fabulous meat) gourmet treats! Crofts, the chocolatiers from Scarborough will be there, selling their indulgent, top quality, handmade chocolates - complete with free samples! Fruit juices from Tree Top Press, whose locally produced, delicious juices are made using the fruits from a local Victorian orchard.
Town Farm nurseries will have a stall providing vegetable and bedding plants and flowers, perfect for you to "grow your own".
There will be three new stalls at the summer market; Lucia's amazing cupcakes will be making their Country Market debut, along with Lucia herself! Mainprize's will be bringing an array of fresh fish and Fairchilds a fine selection of cheeses, preserves and other delicious items from their Scarborough shop. There will be a range of fresh, seasonal, English fruit and vegetables. Truly something for everyone.
In the craft section of the market there will be Judy Porter with handmade greeting cards for every occasion, her husband Dave with bird boxes, feeders and insect refuges, Vince Lees with beautifully turned wooden items, Lily Bee with felt scarves, brooches, pictures and other fun, imaginative things and Mary Turnbull will be there with door wreaths;- after all a door is for life, not just for Christmas!
Staintondale Country Market is a local rural initiative, supporting local businesses and providing a unique opportunity to shop in a cheerful, friendly atmosphere. The market is only held four times a year, so don't miss out, come and shop, and stay to have lunch!
