The Windmill offers AA 4 Star self-catering and B&B holiday accommodation within a 5 minute walk to the town centre of Scarborough. We are ideally situated being close to train station and Stephen Joseph Theatre enabling you to enjoy all the attractions of Scarborough with its award winning Sea Life Marine Sanctuary, the Art Gallery and newly refurbished Rotunda Museum. With its many festivals, including Seafest, Jazz and Bike week, Scarborough Fayre as well as the Cricket Festival, Scarborough provides all year round entertainment and events for all the family.
The Windmill is an 18th Century Grade II listed building and for the comfort and benefit of all our guests is a non-smoking establishment throughout. The Windmill is the last remaining windmill in Scarborough where you can stay on a self-catering or bed and breakfast basis in our cottages or Suites in The Windmill.
We have 2 lovely apartments, each on 2 floors, in the Windmill itself both newly refurbished for 2012 - the Balcony Suite for adventurous adults and the lower Windmill Madeline apartment also for 2 adults but with a travel cot if baby (maximum age of 2 years) comes too!
Brand new for 2012 our 6 ground floor rooms have been converted into 2 self catering single storey cottages, each with 2 en-suite bedrooms and a lounge, kitchen dining room. One cottage caters for up to 4 adults and one child aged under 12 years and the other cottage can accommodate up to 4 adults or two couples.
Our 3 Premier 4 Poster rooms are on the veranda above the courtyard. Each has a king-size four poster bed, en-suite, 2 with walk-in showers and 1 with a bath.
The Windmill is over 220 years old and the last remaining Windmill in Scarborough which Angela and Roland have lovingly owned and run for 15 years. We are ideally located for visits to the town centre or excursions out of Scarborough into surrounding countryside or places such as Whitby, Pickering or York.
The Windmill is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac where there is free parking for one vehicle per unit in our courtyard and when that is full we provide a free pass for Mill Street.
Please note other short breaks are available. Please contact us for more information.

By Car : A64 – Scarborough Road – Follow signs for North Bay. Pass “Curry’s & PC World” and continue on this road - passing through two sets of lights, one pedestrian. At the third set of traffic lights (major junction) turn right onto Falsgrave Road. Pass Sainsbury’s entrance (traffic lights) on the left and continue just a little further on and turn left into Victoria Road. As you enter Victoria Road the road forks into two – you need to bear right and Mill Street is the third turning on the left-hand side (only about 50 yards from the Victoria Road turning) and just before the green painted house and opposite “The Premier Newsagent" on the right. The road is not easy to see as a pavement passes over it so when entering Victoria Road it is wise to drive quite slowly. The Windmill is at the end of Mill Street and impossible to miss!
From the Station : On foot – Leave the station and turn sharp left for approximately 80 meters. Cross the road to Belle Vue Parade which runs along the right side of the large Methodist Church. At the end of Belle Vue Parade turn left along Victoria Road. Mill Street is the second right, just after the green house. The Windmill is at the end of Mill Street and impossible to miss.
