Our recently built Ammonite Cottage offers the perfect opportunity to stay in self-catering luxury accommodation. The fully equipped kitchen with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washer, microwave and iron is complemented by the dining area, with double doors which lead onto the rear patio area that overlooks the stunning Esk Valley countryside.

The lounge, with double doors to the front patio affords spectacular views down towards the River Esk. Steam Train enthusiasts will particularly enjoy the spectacle of the steam train as it passes on its regular service along the North York Moors railway line into Whitby station.

On the first floor are two luxurious double bedrooms, one with balcony and patio furniture overlooking the river valley. A twin bunk bedroom and large luxury bathroom complete this floor.

The cottage has central heating. Also included are hairdryer, hi-fi system, TV, DVDs, books, games, all bedding and tea towels. Towels are provided on request (charge made) Parking is adjacent to the cottage.

Our new 4 star Water’s Edge Cottage provides luxury accommodation over 3 floors.

The ground floor well- equipped kitchen has fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washer, microwave and iron. The dining room has double doors leading out to a patio and communal grassed area adjacent to the River Esk. Downstairs cloakroom.

The first floor lounge, with balcony and patio furniture, affords spectacular views over the river. Bunk bedroom and bathroom with bath and shower complete this floor.

The second floor has two double bedrooms, one with river view, and a second spacious bathroom.

Ammonite Cottage is within 250 metres of the River Esk. A boat ramp is available for access to the river. Fishing permits are available (purchased in Whitby) to fish the river. . Children welcome from any age.

By Road:
From the A171 North of Whitby: At roundabout with the junction of A171 and A169 take the 1st exit onto the A171. At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A171. At the next traffic signals turn right onto the A171 (signposted Scarborough).
After Crossing New Bridge, turn right onto Larpool Lane. Follow Larpool lane for 0.4 miles and turn right into Captain Cooks Haven, then follow directions below to Ammonite Cottage.

From the South and West on the A64 near Malton: Branch left from the A64 towards the A169, then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A169. Follow the A169 for 27 miles until the roundabout at the A171 Junction. At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A171. At next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A171. At the next traffic signals turn right onto the A171 (signposted Scarborough). After Crossing New Bridge, turn right onto Larpool Lane. Follow Larpool lane for 0.4 miles and turn right into Captain Cooks Haven, then follow directions below to Ammonite Cottage.

From South and East A171: Follow the A171 from Scarborough for 20 miles to the outskirts of Whitby. After the Pelican Crossing and Before crossing New Bridge turn left onto Larpool Lane. Follow Larpool lane for 0.4 miles and turn right into Captain Cooks Haven, go under the viaduct and turn left into the car park. Ammonite Cottage is no.7 Riverside View.
