In the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds, our luxury cottages offer a fabulous holiday destination for that family holiday, a romantic break or a few days’ relaxation near the rugged and beautiful Yorkshire Coast.

We have three Four Star Gold boutique cottages set in a tranquil location away from hustle and bustle but close enough to the famous east coast resorts including Scarborough, Filey, Whitby, Bridlington and Flamborough, providing a perfect base to explore the area. There’s something for everyone, from golfers to surfers and from ramblers to cyclists.

Humble Bee Cottage is a converted 200-year-old granary, having two storeys, a superb kitchen diner, log burning stove, en-suite facilities and private patio. Merry Dale and Swallows Nest are both single storey stable conversions offering contemporary decor, log burning stoves, glorious outdoor hot tubs with gazebos and en-suite facilities. We have also installed under floor heating and wall mounted TV screens, and for a modern twist, WiFi, iPod docks and satellite television are available.

Humble Bee Farm has an onsite shop/reception, which, at busy times, sells local produce including eggs, bacon and sausages. The local area, however, boasts a wonderful array of restaurants, pubs and cafes, farm shops, stately homes and other attractions to help you relax and enjoy yourself. You really are spoilt for choice in this part of Yorkshire!

If you want to explore the area around our 320-acre arable and livestock farm, we have way-marked walks, ideal for working up an appetite, and the Wolds Way National Trail borders the farm, part of which takes you into the centre of the seaside resort of Filey. The coastal towns of Whitby and Bridlington are within easy reach, as is the North York Moor National Park, Dalby Forest and beautiful towns and cities such as Beverley, York and Hull. Indulge in your hobbies and interests in the local area and yes, you can bring the dog!

Yorkshire has a number of famous film and literary connections – Hollywood blockbusters such as the Harry Potter series was filmed along parts of the North Yorkshire Railway, while British film Little Voice was filmed in Scarborough. A number of television series have been filmed nearby, including The Royal, Shackleton and many more.

By Road:
From Scarborough take the A64 out of Scarborough and follow until you get to the Staxton roundabout. At roundabout take first exit onto the A1039 (signposted Filey). Continue on this road until you approach the village of Flixton. Just before you enter the village take the right hand turn (signposted Fordon/Wold Newton). Follow this road up to the top of the hill and take the right hand turn where Humble Bee Farm is signposted. You will descend down a track until Humble Bee Farm comes into view.
