Mick and Sheila would like to welcome you to their family run guesthouse we are open all year round. Situated on the magnificent West Cliff area of Whitby. The Middleham offers outstanding en-suite rooms for your stay, some rooms have sea views. We are situated just off the Crescent Ave on a quiet side road.
It is a strictly non-smoking guesthouse and we regret we do not accept pets.
A full English breakfast with plenty of choices which will set you up for the long day ahead. Breakfast is between 8.00am - 9.00am (earlier by arrangement). There is a good selection of starters including: fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereal, followed by a full English breakfast or a vegetarian option.
We ensure your stay with us will be an enjoyable one. Relax in our large residents lounge (you can bring your own beer and wine, glasses are provided).
We are only a few minute from the beach, you can take the cliff lift or walk down to miles of golden sands on the West Cliff. There are many attractions for children during the day: Trampolines, Bumper Boats, Go-karts, and many others. The Pavilion has many attractions through the year, daytime and night events. Take a short walk into the busy town centre, explore the charming old town with its narrow cobble streets and walk up the 199 steps up to St Mary’s church and Whitby Abbey. Alternatively, just have a drink in one of the many cafés or bars around the picturesque harbour or one of the side streets, chatting and watching the world go by.
Whitby and its surrounding district have lots of heritage; you will always find something to do regardless of the weather. Explore Whitby with its narrow cobbled streets, fine bays and sandy beaches. For the brave hearted climb 199 steps to the parish church of St Mary, “the inspirations for Bram Stoker’s author of Dracula”, or explore the coastline with blue flag beaches and the north Yorkshire moors. Within a short car ride, you are in the Dale’s (Heart beat country), Scarborough and the City of York and there are many more small villages along the Yorkshire coast. Take a ride on The Steam Railway (running from Pickering to Whitby), Flamingo land and Eden Camp are just some of the places you can visit for a day out.
