Catering for up to 20 guests within 9 newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms, the Duke of York offers a relaxed and comfortable 'home from home' atmosphere.

Our 6 front bedrooms, two of which offer spacious balconies, all boast stunning panoramic sea views across the quaint harbour and beautiful South Bay seafront.
All bedrooms offer full en-suite facilities, with either a bath or shower, flat screen colour TV's with free-view, a well-stocked refreshment tray, hairdryer and binoculars (in all sea-view rooms). All rooms have been newly refurbished in 2010/11 and many now offer comfy seating areas, to help you relax and make the most out of the beautiful views.

Our spacious dining room also offers full bay and harbour views, so you can enjoy your delicious breakfasts whilst watching the fishing boats sail by. Our hearty breakfasts include a starter of a choice of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts and a selection of fruit juices, followed by a delicious freshly prepared home cooked full English breakfast. Any special diets or special requests can also be catered for with advanced notice. We understand breakfast is the most important meal of the day and so make it our aim to fill you up until lunch!

Boasting some of the best sea and harbour views in Scarborough, the Duke of York is possibly one of the most conveniently located guest houses in town, overlooking the South Bay seafront. We are literally only a few steps away from the beach and just a 5 minute walk into the heart of the town.

Located on one of the oldest roads in Scarborough, Merchant's Row, this tiny cobbled street is steeped in history and has in fact been the location of various films throughout the last 30 years. These films include 'Chorus of Dissaproval' staring Anthony Hopkins, Jeremy Irons and Prunella Scales as well as 'Dancing Queen', with Rick Mayall and Helena Bonnam Carter. More recently it was also used in the hit TV drama 'Brides in The bath' with Martin Kemp.

Many of the town's attractions including the Sea Life Centre, Peasholm Park, Miniature Railway and Playzone Adventure Centre are all within walking distance of the guest house, or just a few minutes bus ride away. A selection of literature is available both in the bedrooms and in the entrance of the guest house for your convenience.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Duke of York Guest House. Most of our guests are repeat visitors, some of which have been staying with us for 10, 15, 20 and some for almost 30 years. Visit us once and we hope you become a guest and friend for life.
