Orchard Lodge (100% Non-smoking) is purpose built visitor accommodation, built to blend in with the countryside. A flight of stairs leads to all six en-suite bedrooms of international layout, with a pleasant rural outlook from each. On a practical note the private car park may be viewed from within the comfort of the accommodation.
Orchard Lodge is located in the rural village of Flixton, well known for country cricket. It is nestled beneath the Yorkshire Wolds, and only a short drive from the coastal resorts of Scarborough and Filey, and a little further to the north, Whitby. It is also close to Ganton for golf. Locally, that is, a short walk down our lane at the river area is the Wetlands Project where a wide variety of birds have been observed.
Flixton has an active ''Yorkshire Countrywomen's Association'', which meets on a monthly basis. The Foxhound public house is spacious and welcomes the new faces of tourists as well as the locals, and offers bar meals.
The 8000 BC Star Carr Settlement site is located quite close to Flixton in the river area.

By Road:
On A64 from York direction, at Staxton roundabout take A1039 Filey Road, Flixton is the first village. In centre of village take left 'T' junction for North St. Orchard Lodge is on the left a short drive down.

By Public Transport:
At Seamer railway station walk left out of station to bus stop 100 yards on left. Buses number 118 may be caught here which take you to Flixton, but only 4 times a day, (not on Sundays). Please check timetable with Orchard Lodge 01723 890202.
