The green Father Christmas will find his way into the circular building – despite its lack of chimneys – and take up residence to greet families in his special grotto.
Debbie Seymour, chief executive of Scarborough Museums Trust, said: “We’re quite old-fashioned about these things here at the Trust, so wanted our Father Christmas to be green, not red-and-white.
“It’s believed that he only became red-and-white in the 1930s, when a certain

company represented him that way to tie in with their branding.”
Entry to the Rotunda is free on both days for both adults and children. Entry to the grotto is £3 per child (including Christmas present).
