Hutton Buscel is located 5 miles/8 kilometres south-west of Scarborough. Hutton Buscel lies on a hillside, quietly aloof from the traffic below on the main road (A170) from Pickering to Scarborough. Stone houses and cottages line the village road from end to end. The original 12th century church was altered in later periods and partly restored in 1855. Facilities include a church, regular bus service, public telephone box and a caravan site.

By Road:
From the south take the A1 (signposted The North), leave at junction 32 and join the M18 (signposted The North), at junction 7 continue forward onto the M62 (signposted Hull). Leave the M62 at junction 37, then merge onto the A63 (signposted Howden, A614, Selby, A63), at the roundabout take the second exit onto A614 (signposted Bridlington) and continue forwards on the A165. At the roundabout take the first exit onto the A165 (signposted Scarborough), at mini-roundabout continue forward on A165 then turn left onto the A171 (signposted York A164). At the next mini-roundabout continue forward onto A171 (signposted Whitby, Thirsk) and then at the next mini-roundabout continue forward onto A170 (signposted Thirsk, Pickering), the second exit at the next two roundabouts and turn right onto Church Lane. From the north take the A174, att traffic signals continue forward onto the A171 (signposted Scarborough), bear right onto the A171 (signposted Scarborough) at mini-roundabout continue forward onto the A171 (signposted Scarborough Town Centre) and turn right onto Stepney Drive (signposted Thirsk A170) Stepney Drive. At the next roundabout take the third exit onto the A170 (signposted Thirsk), then at the next roundabout take the second exit onto the A170 (signposted Thirsk), turn right onto Church Lane (signposted Hutton Buscel).
