StaintondaleA scattered number of houses and farms make up the village of Staintondale which stands less than a mile from the steep, wooded, Beast Cliff along the coast. In the early 12th century, King Stephen granted land here to the Knights Hospitallers for them to build a hospice and look after poor people and travellers. Village also consists of a camp and caravan site accommodation, cafe, general store, public telephone box, church and post office.
