Hunmanby

Surrounded by breathtaking scenery and beautiful landscapes this bustling village sits on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds with a population of approximately 2800. A delightful village surrounded by good farming land, about three miles south-east Filey and nine miles equidistant from Scarborough and Bridlington. From the 1800's until 1960, brick making was one of the local industries and many of the buildings are made from these 'home-produced' bricks.

Quite a number of buildings date back to the 17th Century and perhaps the oldest building which still exists (apart from the Parish Church) is the Manor House, once well known as Low Hall Manor, on Sheepdyke Lane.

The early Norman Church of All Saints stands on the main village street. There are some Saxon carvings from around 900 A.D. in the north wall of the Church.

The village has a small street of shops and 2 local public houses and still boasts the market place cross.
